The Dickeys

From the Family:

Judah Dickey is a 10-year-old boy from Germantown, TN, who was diagnosed with DIPG.  Judah is a big Mississippi State University fan and an even bigger animal fan.  His parents, Micah and Amanda Dickey, are MSU alumni, and his older brother Ryan is a current student.  He also has two other siblings, an older brother, Liam, and a younger sister, Emerson.  Judah and his family were invited down to Starkville for a Dickey-tailored day full of the maroon and white experience from Bully to athletics.

From the Fans:

Thank you so much for such an incredible day at Mississippi State—not only for Judah, but for our entire family. As alumni, and with our oldest son currently attending MSU, the university already holds a very special place in our hearts. That said, this experience made it even more meaningful. Although the day was centered around Judah, every member of our family felt welcomed, valued, and included from the moment we arrived.

Judah absolutely loved touring the athletic facilities and getting a behind-the-scenes look. He was completely blown away when he walked into the football training facility and was greeted by a line of players standing in front of his picture on the giant screen. It was such a powerful and unforgettable moment for him. He had an amazing time working out and throwing the ball with the football team, and he was just as excited to meet the baseball team, watch them practice, and receive a bag full of MSU baseball gear. Of course, getting to take batting practice on the field made him feel like an absolute superstar!

While Judah loves all things sports, one of his favorite parts of the day was meeting the mascots. He had so much fun with Bully and loved leading Dak around the football stadium, giving him plenty of love and attention. We were truly touched to learn that Dak was brought all the way from Meridian to Starkville just to meet our son—that meant more to us than we can fully express.

We cannot begin to put into words the impact this day had on Judah and our entire family. Walking through life with a child facing terminal cancer is more difficult than we ever could have imagined. Being given the opportunity to step into a day filled with joy, excitement, and unforgettable memories is something we will cherish forever. This is an experience we never could have created on our own, and it truly was a once-in-a-lifetime gift.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who played a role in making this day so special and meaningful for our son and our family.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Micah and Amanda
